The Sun Devils have found discipline under the leadership of nomadic Todd Graham and it shows in the product on the field. After spanking Colorado last Thursday night on national television, Graham's Sun Devils await the offensive juggernaut that resides in Eugene, Oregon.
In 2010, the Sun Devils couldn't keep from turning the ball over to the Ducks and that cost them that game. This isn't as talented an Arizona State team and the Ducks are more explosive, especially with Marcus Mariota at quarterback. The redshirt freshman is a cool customer who doesn't get rattled in any situation and he's going to make a couple of key escapes and throws in the fourth quarter to turn a close game into a Ducks double digit win.
Oregon - 45 vs. Arizona State - 30
West Virginia's defense can't be THAT bad, can it? Um, yeah, it is that bad. But this week is that week to get back on the horse. The Kansas State Wildcats' offense is run based with QB Collin Klein and RB John Hubert handling the rock with regularity. I just have this feeling that if the front three doesn't just get obliterated by an underrated KSU OL, the defense may make a stop or two in this game and get KSU off the field.
That gives the ball back to an offense that has something to prove…in a big way, especially QB Geno Smith. I love Kansas State's aggressiveness and intelligence on the defensive side of the ball, but West Virginia won't be held down for the second week in a row, especially at home. Smith will throw for 375+ and three touchdowns, while the running back corps will pick up a pair of touchdowns as well.
West Virginia - 38 vs. Kansas State - 32
