MOBILE, ALA.—
An inside look at the Senior Bowl quarterbacks from the North squad on Wednesday, the last real practice of the week:
Arm Strength: 4.75
Comments: Cousins, much like Weeden, throws with tremendous power and torque. Cousins has practiced like he has something to prove. He continues to throw with aggression and a sense of purpose. You don’t often see that here, but it has been clear all week that he wants to show that he’s one of the top quarterbacks available for the 2012 NFL Draft.
Accuracy: 4.5
Comments: Once again, Cousins was really accurate on almost all of his throws. And considering he hasn’t worked with these players previously, he’s doing a great job with the timing and anticipation part of his game.
Mechanics/Pocket Awareness: 4.5
Comments: Cousins continued to display good footwork and mechanics on Wednesday. He also has a good sense of what’s going on around him and did a nice job of moving around to create functional space to throw the ball.
Arm Strength: 4.25
Comments: Wilson’s passes had more zip on the ball during the Wednesday practice session. There’s no question that despite his size, Wilson can throw with power.
Accuracy: 4.0
Comments: Wilson’s accuracy improved a little bit over Tuesday’s practice session. He was more accurate on deeper throws, which had given him problems earlier in the week. And he also was much more accurate on sideline throws.
Mechanics/Pocket Awareness: 4.25
Comments: Wilson has had pretty good passing mechanics and awareness of what has been going around him during the week.
Arm Strength: 2.5
Comments: There’s not much Moore can do about his lack of arm strength at this point. But I did notice he was able to put decent zip on passes from 15 yards and in.
Accuracy: 3.5
Comments: Again, his arm strength will prevent him from being able to even attempt throws for over 30 yards. However, Moore really displayed solid accuracy and touch on his passes 15 yards and under.
Pocket Awareness/Movement: 3.75
Comments: Moore’s pocket awareness continued to improve during the 90-minute practice session. His footwork was much better on Wednesday.
