The Philadelphia Eagles got some great news on the injury front on Saturday.

Starting WR Jeremy Maclin (active non-football injury list) and recently signed WR Steve Smith (active PUP list) began practicing. Both players were activated of those lists, so they can’t go back on to begin the regular season. They were already counting against the roster.

While Maclin and Smith did limited work, ORT Ryan Harris is scheduled for back surgery. Head coach Andy Reid said starting TE Brent Celek (hip injection) is expected to miss a few days of practice, but should be fine.

Reid also said rookies C Jason Kelce and RG Danny Watkins remained with the starters during Saturday’s light practice.
