The Miami Dolphins have signed FB Jorvorskie Lane, the team announced Tuesday.
Lane (5-11, 277) played collegiately at Texas A&M where he rushed for 2,090 yards on 461 carries and 49 touchdowns while appearing in 49 games.
Lane, 25, was a three-year starter at Lufkin High School in Lufkin, Texas, where he rushed for 3,671 yards and 70 touchdowns and recorded 80 receptions for 1,060 yards.
Lane played for former Texas A&M head coach Mike Sherman, who is currently the Dolphins offensive coordinator, so Sherman is more than familiar with him. Sherman moved Lane from running back to fullback during his final season. Lane put up 44 rushing touchdowns in his first three seasons, along with an average per carry of 4.67.
