The San Diego Chargers have signed veteran LB Kevin Bentley. The team has yet to announce the move, but Bentley signed his contract on Thursday. To make room for Bentley on the roster, the Chargers waived/injured TE Dennis Morris. Morris was placed on injured reserve after he passes through waivers unclaimed.
Bentley, 31, played the last three seasons with the Houston Texans and appeared in 45 games and started 15 of them. He was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
Bentley will line up at inside linebacker for the Chargers. The team decided to pursue Bentley after veteran ILB Stephen Cooper (torn biceps) suffered an injury recently.
